EA Sports Confirms Fight Night Boxing Series Is Returning After 15 Years
EA Sports has announced that Fight Night is coming back, but the teaser gives no platforms, release date or fighters yet. Here is what has been confirmed so far.

EA Sports has officially revived its long-dormant boxing series. A new Fight Night account posted a short message on Tuesday, October 20: "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back."
That is the only official statement so far.
What EA has actually said
The announcement is a teaser, not a full reveal. According to Push Square, the post came with an image of a pair of boxing gloves hanging above a ring, with the line "The fight is never over."
EA has not named a platform, a release window or any boxers. It has not said whether the game will be a sequel to Fight Night Champion or a fresh start.
Why it has been so long
Fight Night Champion was the last entry. It launched 15 years ago, according to Push Square, which says it was on PS3. VGC says the series ran for five games between 2004 and 2011, and that all five earned Metacritic scores in the mid-to-high 80s.
After Champion, EA turned to mixed martial arts. VGC notes that five EA Sports UFC games were released between 2014 and 2026. Other boxing games have appeared in the meantime, including Creed: Rise to Glory and Undisputed, Push Square notes.
Timing and fan demand
VGC points out that the announcement comes close to the completion of EA's sale to Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. It also notes that Saudi Arabia has become a major force in staging high-profile boxing fights. Neither source says the two are officially connected.
Fans and the boxing world have asked for the series to return. VGC recalls that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua both appear as bonus fighters in EA Sports UFC. Fury's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said in a 2020 live stream that he had pitched a Fight Night idea to EA Sports.
What happens next
Nothing beyond the teaser is confirmed, so the next step is for EA to share details. Watch the official Fight Night account on X (@EASPORTSFN) for any reveal of platforms, fighters or a launch window. Push Square's view is that a release is probably still a few years away, but that is its estimate, not an EA statement.
