Eagles Trade Pro Bowl Center Cam Jurgens to Ravens for 2028 Second-Round Pick
Philadelphia sends its two-time Pro Bowl center to Baltimore, which lost several centers to injury, in a deal that reshapes both teams' offensive lines.

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded Cam Jurgens, the two-time Pro Bowl center, to the Baltimore Ravens. The teams announced the deal on Wednesday. Baltimore has been scrambling at center because of injuries, while Philadelphia's offensive line is also in flux.
What the trade includes
According to NFL.com and the Ravens, Philadelphia sent Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round selection to Baltimore. In return, the Eagles receive a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.
Bleeding Green Nation notes the deal leaves Philadelphia with four picks in the first two rounds of the 2028 draft. Those are its own first and second rounders, the Ravens' second-rounder and New England's first-rounder, which came in the A.J. Brown trade.
Jurgens was a second-round pick in 2022 out of Nebraska. He appeared in 62 games, with 45 starts, for the Eagles. He took over at center after Jason Kelce, whom he was groomed to replace.

Why Baltimore wanted him
The Ravens lost Tyler Linderbaum to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency. They then signed three veteran centers: Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic. All three landed on injured reserve before October, according to the team's website.
First-round guard Vega Ioane filled in at center last week against the Titans and played well. With Jurgens arriving, Ioane can move back to right guard. John Simpson would be at left guard, with Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten at tackle.
The Ravens' site called it their biggest trade since the 2022 deal for linebacker Roquan Smith.
The Eagles' side
Jurgens began this season at center. He moved to left guard after Landon Dickerson went on injured reserve, a position he had never played. Bleeding Green Nation says he struggled there, and some fans wanted him benched.
The deal also follows right tackle Lane Johnson's retirement on Tuesday. NFL.com reports he stepped away to focus on his mental health. Jurgens had entered concussion protocol earlier this week.
Reports differ on how much he is available. Bleeding Green Nation said he was expected to miss Week 5, while the Ravens' site, citing Adam Schefter, says he is expected to debut next week against Cleveland.
What happens next
Jurgens is expected to make his Ravens debut next week against the Browns, if he clears the concussion protocol. Baltimore also gets a long-term piece. The sources say Jurgens is signed through 2029, and the Ravens' site calls him a player they can build around.
The Eagles now have to rebuild their line without Jurgens and Johnson. The sources do not say who will replace them. Bleeding Green Nation mentions Willie Lampkin as a name fans had suggested.
