Arsenal Women are away to Paris FC in the Women's Champions League league phase on Wednesday, with kick-off at the Stade Jean Bouin set for 5.45pm BST. Arsenal want to find their goalscoring form after a slow start to the season.

This is a preview based on pre-match information. It does not cover what happens on the pitch.

Team news

Renée Slegers has made two changes from the 1-0 WSL defeat at Chelsea on Sunday. Misa Rodriguez comes in for Anneke Borbe in goal. Lotte Wubben-Moy replaces Steph Catley in defence.

Catley did not travel because of back problems. Chloe Kelly is also out with a hamstring issue. Elisa de Almeida is closer to a return but is not available, and Daphne van Domselaar, Katie Reid and Michelle Agyemang remain longer-term absentees.

Arsenal (4-3-3): Misa; Fox, Williamson, Wubben-Moy, Batlle; Stanway, Little (c), Cooney-Cross; Baum, Russo, Caldentey.

Paris FC (4-2-3-1): Chavas; N'Dongala, Hocine, Greboval, Liaigre; Le Moguedec, Korosec; Reynders, Toloba, Mateo (c); Viens.

Why Arsenal need a reaction

Arsenal have scored just three goals in five games this season, in a run of one, zero, one, one and zero. They opened their European campaign with a 1-0 home win over Danish side HB Køge. The Guardian called it fortunate, and ESPN reports it needed an injury-time penalty.

A win would give Arsenal back-to-back Champions League wins to start a campaign for the first time since 2022/23. Their tough schedule includes Barcelona and Lyon later in the league phase.

ESPN also reports that Arsenal already trail WSL leaders Manchester City by seven points. That makes the Champions League an increasingly important route to a trophy this season.

What to know about Paris FC

Paris FC finished ahead of Paris Saint-Germain last season to take France's second direct league-phase place. They reached the knockout play-offs last season and lost to Real Madrid.

Their season has been mixed, with two wins and two defeats so far. In Division 1 Féminine they beat Nantes and Strasbourg 2-0 and lost 7-1 at Lyon.

In their Champions League opener they lost 5-2 at Barcelona. They took an early lead through Evelyne Viens but were 4-1 down by half-time. They have lost their last four Champions League games, all against Real Madrid or Barcelona, by an aggregate score of 12-4.

Paris have also lost all three previous Champions League meetings with English opposition, all against Chelsea. Arsenal beat them 1-0 in pre-season.

Paris coach Soubeyrand said Arsenal were "better than us on paper". Soubeyrand also said the team would try to "hit them on the break".

How to watch

UK viewers can watch the match live on Disney+. Romanian referee Elena Demetrescu is in charge, with Jakob Kehlet on VAR. Arsenal's website lists broadcasters in other countries.
