Bella Ramsey Joins Celebrity Traitors: Why Giggles Could Be Their Biggest Risk

The Last of Us star joins a 21-strong cast as The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on Thursday, and they have already said what could give them away.

Bella Ramsey, the Game of Thrones and The Last of Us actor, is about to step into the castle for the second series of The Celebrity Traitors. The BBC show returns on Thursday, and Ramsey has been talking about how they plan to play it.

What Ramsey has said about their game

Ramsey says their acting background could be an edge. "If I was telling a lie, people would spot me instantly," they said ahead of the launch. They added that playing a character is "what I do".

There is one catch, though. Ramsey admitted they "can get the giggles", which could make them look suspicious even when they have done nothing wrong.

They see their biggest strength as observation. Ramsey plans to keep their opinions to themselves until the moment feels right, rather than making accusations early. They would only speak firmly when confident.

Asked whether they would rather be a Traitor or a Faithful, Ramsey said they would love to be a Traitor. They accepted the role could be more stressful, but said that was part of the appeal. They also reasoned that a Traitor has only one way to be eliminated, while a Faithful has two.

A waxwork with a twist

Madame Tussauds London has dressed Ramsey's waxwork in the show's cloak. The figure was first unveiled in September 2025.

The cloak will stay on if Ramsey turns out to be a Traitor and will be removed if they are a Faithful. Visitors can see the figure in its current form until the series begins. General manager Steve Blackburn said the attraction hopes Ramsey "gets the tap on the shoulder" from host Claudia Winkleman.

The cast and the stakes

The show is filmed in a Scottish Highlands castle and hosted by Winkleman. Contestants must work out who the Traitors are, as they secretly "murder" fellow players each night. The top prize is up to £100,000 for the winner's chosen charity.

PinkNews says Ramsey is one of several out LGBTQ+ cast members, alongside Sebastian Croft, Joe Lycett and Myha'la. Other names in the BBC's cast photo include Ross Kemp, James Blunt, Richard E Grant, Miranda Hart, Michael Sheen and Jerry Hall.

Ramsey, who is 23, is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. PinkNews says the show is set to be Ramsey's first time really being themself on television, rather than acting as a character.

The bar is high. The first celebrity series, which aired last autumn, averaged 14.9 million viewers and was the most-watched TV show of 2025, according to Yahoo News UK. Its finale peaked at 15.4 million, and Alan Carr won as a Traitor.

What it means for you

If you want to watch live, tune in to BBC One at 8pm on Thursday. The series will also be on iPlayer, with episodes on Thursdays and Fridays. If you plan to visit the waxwork, go before the show starts, because its outfit may change depending on how Ramsey's game unfolds.
