Chivas vs. América in Oakland: How to Watch El Clásico Nacional on US TV and Streaming
Mexico's biggest rivalry heads to California for a Sunday friendly at the Oakland Coliseum, with Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Peacock in the US.

Mexico's two most popular clubs are meeting again just a week after their league Clásico Nacional. Chivas and América play a friendly in California on Sunday.
How to watch in the United States
Telemundo says it will show the match live in Spanish, and Peacock will stream it. The network calls itself the US home of Chivas, Tigres UANL and Bravos de Juárez in Spanish-language Liga MX coverage.
The sources do not name an English-language broadcast. Viewers who want English commentary should check local listings.
Chivas' own site lists a separate option for fans in Mexico: streaming on Amazon Prime Video. That does not apply to US viewers.

When and where
The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum hosts the game, which Chivas list as part of Tour Rebaño 2026. The club puts kickoff at 7:10 p.m. Central Mexico time on Sunday, Oct. 4. Check the conversion for your own time zone.
The match falls during a FIFA international date. It comes only a week after the Apertura 2026 Clásico Nacional.
What each team brings
Chivas, coached by Gabriel Milito, arrive after a 0-2 home loss to Querétaro in Matchday 10. That result left them third in the Apertura table with 18 points. They have five wins, three draws and two losses, with 17 goals scored.
América, under Guillermo Almada, are level on 20 points at the top with Toluca, though the Águilas have played one match fewer. They beat Necaxa 4-2 in Aguascalientes in their last league game. Colombian forward Miguel Borja scored in that win, after a two-goal game in the last league Clásico, and Telemundo calls him the biggest threat to Chivas' defense.
Telemundo also points to a video report that América goalkeeper Ángel Malagón has recovered from injury and will return for the friendly. The source gives no further detail, so lineups are worth checking closer to kickoff.
Telemundo's preview says the rivalry has its own rules, with table positions fading into the background when these two meet.

What it means for you
If you want to watch in the US, tune in to Telemundo or open Peacock before kickoff. Both carry the game in Spanish. Fans in Mexico can use Amazon Prime Video, per Chivas.
Because the kickoff time is given in Central Mexico time, convert it to your own time zone. Lineup news, including Malagón's return, should be confirmed nearer the match.
