Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA Sets February 25, 2027 Release on Switch 2
NIS America and Falcom will bring the action RPG to Switch 2 on February 25, 2027, with 120 fps support, GameShare co-op and Spanish-language support for the first time.

Publisher NIS America and developer Falcom have announced that the action RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is coming to Switch 2 on February 25, 2027. The announcement was reported by Gematsu. It adds another platform to a game that has been released on many systems since 2016.
What the Switch 2 version includes
The headline feature is performance. The companies say players can experience the game at up to 120 frames per second on Switch 2.
The release also supports GameShare. That lets a player bring a friend along to cooperate and play through the adventure together.
Spanish-language support is also new. According to the announcement, this is the first time the game has offered it.
The story and gameplay
The game follows series hero Adol, who wakes up shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island. He and the other castaways form a village to survive and look for a way off the island. Along the way, Adol begins dreaming of a mysterious blue-haired maiden named Dana.
The official feature list highlights several elements:
- Party-based combat: players can switch their playable character on the fly during fast-paced fights.
- Dana's sections: her unique gameplay segments help unravel the mystery of who she is.
- Village building: players rescue fellow castaways and bring them to the village, where they provide useful services.
