Megan Thee Stallion is speaking candidly about the end of her relationship with Klay Thompson. In a new Marie Claire interview, the rapper described the emotional toll of the breakup, which she announced in April.

What she said about the split

"I ain't never been through nothing like that in my whole life," Megan told the magazine. She added that she has never been in a relationship like it and is "definitely not worried about another one for a long time."

She said the end of the relationship was sudden and that she is still processing it. "It was so abrupt. I'm in shock still," she said.

Megan also described the state she was in beforehand. "I feel like I was in a panic 24/7," she said, adding that her nervous system "needed to calm down." She said she is still not eating all the way right and is "feeling all the feelings."

She did not present herself as fully recovered. "I'm not pretending I'm 100 percent okay," she said. She also said she is trusting her instincts more: "No, the gut is always right."

Background on the breakup

The Sporting News reports that the couple began dating in the summer of 2025. In April, Megan announced the split in a statement to People. She said "trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable" for her in a relationship. The Sporting News describes this as her accusing Thompson of cheating.

Thompson, who joined the Heat on a two-year, $11.5 million contract in August, has not spoken out about the split, according to the same report.

The Broadway health scare

The same Marie Claire interview also covered a separate episode from earlier in the year. Megan, who made her Broadway debut as Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, left the March 31 performance about a week into her run and was taken to a hospital.

She recalled thinking she was having a stroke, saying her hands and face "froze." She said people around her at first thought she was dehydrated. BroadwayWorld reports that doctors determined she had a panic attack and extreme exhaustion.

Castmate Kelsie Watts said Megan "was burning the candle at both ends," juggling rehearsals, album work, press and photo shoots. Megan returned days later and stayed with the show through May 1. She also appeared on stage at the Tony Awards in June. The Broadway production played its final show on August 30.

The sources do not link the hospital visit to the breakup, which came in April. They are separate topics in the interview.

Thompson has not commented, and nothing in the sources indicates he plans to. Any response from him would be new information. The full Marie Claire interview is the place to read Megan's comments in context.
