'24 Jump Street' Gets Dec. 10, 2027 Release Date With Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill
Sony has dated the third Jump Street movie for December 2027, with Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube all set to return for the R-rated comedy.
The third Jump Street movie now has an official date. Sony announced a batch of release-calendar updates on Wednesday, and 24 Jump Street is dated for Dec. 10, 2027, with its three leads on board.
What we know about the film
Tatum, Hill and Ice Cube will reprise their roles from the first two films in the R-rated comedy franchise. That is 2012's 21 Jump Street and its 2014 sequel, 22 Jump Street.
Rodney Rothman, known for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, will direct. He wrote the screenplay with Hill and Meghan Malloy.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed the first two films. This time they are producing, along with Neal H. Moritz, Tatum and Hill, according to TheWrap.
The series is based on the TV crime drama that starred Johnny Depp and ran from 1987 to 1991.
How the project got here
Reports surfaced in June that the trio were negotiating to return. That followed an Instagram post in which Moritz teased the project.
The news is a surprise given what Tatum said last year. In an interview with Variety, he said he got asked about a third film more than any other movie he had made.
"I don't think it'll ever happen," Tatum said then. He blamed the cost of the many producers involved, calling the project "too top-heavy." He did say he thought the script was the best he had read from the franchise.

The Jump Street date was one of several moves. Ridley Scott's Treasure Island, with Hugh Jackman as Long John Silver, is dated for Nov. 11, 2027, a month earlier.
The video game adaptation Helldivers moves from Nov. 10, 2027, to June 9, 2028. Alan Ritchson stars after Jason Momoa's departure.
Other dates include The Surgeon on April 2, 2027, and Narcs on Aug. 20, 2027. Grandgear moves up to Jan. 14, 2028.
What happens next
The film is still some time away, so expect casting and production updates before then. The sources do not say when filming will start or when a trailer might arrive. For now, mark Dec. 10, 2027, on the calendar. Release dates in this business can still shift, as Helldivers just showed.
