Dakota Johnson hosts the second episode of "Saturday Night Live" Season 52 tonight. It is her third time hosting, following appearances in 2015 and 2024.

What we know about tonight's episode

Johnson first hosted on Feb. 28, 2015, while promoting "Fifty Shades of Grey." She returned on Jan. 27, 2024, to promote "Madame Web." This time she is promoting "Verity," a Colleen Hoover adaptation co-starring Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett, according to NBC and TVLine.

TVLine notes that three hosting stints put her past the halfway mark toward the "Five Timers Club" robe. SNL has also released promos with Johnson and cast member Ashley Padilla.

Johnson has said she loves the show. She told Jimmy Fallon in 2024 that after her first hosting gig she thought, "I'll quit my job and just do this every day."

TVLine also points out that Johnson is set to star in the music video for "Patient Zero," a song from Taylor Swift's "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" deluxe album. Page Six also references the video. TVLine suggests she may mention her friend Swift, but that is speculation, not something confirmed.

Turnstile's SNL debut

Baltimore hardcore band Turnstile is the musical guest, and it will perform twice, according to TVLine. The group won two Grammys in 2026, for Best Rock Album ("Never Enough") and Best Metal Performance ("Birds"), per NBC. It is currently on its Never Enough Tour Pt. 2.

TVLine lists the lineup as Brendan Yates, Franz Lyons, Daniel Fang, Pat McCrory and Meg Mills. The band formed in 2010 and earned its first Grammy nominations in 2023.

Season 52 so far

Last week's premiere featured New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson as host and KATSEYE as musical guest. The cast has only two new hires this year, Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter. TVLine reports that Chloe Fineman and Martin Herlihy have left.

How to watch

The episode airs live coast to coast at 11:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 p.m. CT and 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC. Peacock streams it too, and the full episode is available on Peacock on Sunday.

Page Six warns that the start could be delayed by college football, as happened last weekend. Without cable, a live TV streaming service that carries NBC will work. Peacock Premium offers a seven-day free trial, then costs $16.99 a month, per Page Six.

What it means for you

If you want to watch live, check your local NBC listings, since a football overrun could push the start back. If you miss it, the full episode should be on Peacock Sunday morning, and NBC posts clips on YouTube. Next week's episode is set to be hosted by Shane Gillis, with Rosalía as musical guest, according to TVLine.
