Riders Republic Coming to Switch 2 on December 9 With New Offline Play Mode
Ubisoft says Riders Republic arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9, with a new Offline Play mode launching the same day on all current platforms.

Ubisoft has confirmed that its multiplayer open-world extreme sports game Riders Republic is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 9. The publisher and developer Ubisoft Annecy also announced Offline Play, a new mode that lets players keep progressing without a connection. The mode is coming to every current platform, not just Nintendo's console.
What Offline Play does
According to the announcement, the team built the feature around the Switch 2 version and the game's Steam Deck certification. The aim is to let players continue their progression even when they have no internet connection.
The mode is called Nomad. It lets players enjoy most of Riders Republic's content in single-player. You can explore the open world freely and move through your careers at your own pace.
Ubisoft lists several things you can do offline:
- Unlock landmarks.
- Uncover beauty spots.
- Find all the balloons scattered across the world.
- Keep customizing your character.

How progress is saved
Once a player reconnects, the game reconciles everything done offline with the online save. Ubisoft says all offline progress is fully reintegrated into your overall Riders Republic progression, and that nothing is lost.
The companies describe the feature as especially useful on portable platforms such as Steam Deck and Switch 2. They also say it gives a smoother experience during network disruptions or server maintenance on any platform.
What still needs a connection
Riders Republic remains a live game, so not everything works offline. Ubisoft says the shop, season progression, sponsors, multiplayer modes and user-created events all require an internet connection.
The announcement came alongside a Switch 2 announcement trailer and an archived live stream marking the game's fifth anniversary.
What it means for you
If you plan to play Riders Republic on Switch 2, the December 9 date is the one to note. Offline Play arrives on that day, so portable players should be able to keep working through their careers away from Wi-Fi.
Players on other current platforms get the same mode on the same date. The source does not give a Switch 2 price or an exact launch time, so check the Nintendo eShop or Ubisoft's channels for those details.
