Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold Delayed to February 23, 2027, Early Access Feb. 19
Square Enix has moved Final Fantasy XIV's Evercold expansion out of its January 2027 window to February 23, with early access on February 19 and pre-orders on November 4.
Square Enix has delayed Final Fantasy XIV's next expansion, Evercold, to February 23, 2027. The date replaces the January 2027 window the company had given earlier, according to Gematsu and Nintendo Life.
What changed
Nintendo Life reports that Square Enix announced the new date at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Tokyo. Gematsu describes Evercold as the patch 8.0 expansion, and Nintendo Life calls it the game's sixth.
Early access begins on February 19, 2027, four days before the full launch. Pre-orders open on November 4, 2026.
The sources do not give a reason for the delay. They also do not say whether any content has changed because of it.
Collector's Edition and content
Gematsu lists the Collector's Edition contents: a Reaper figure, an Ethos metal keychain, a Kottr mini plush, a "Tapestry of the Fourth" and an Evercold special art box. The sources give no price for that edition.
Nintendo Life says Evercold keeps the features already confirmed. These include new jobs, cities, areas, dungeons and trials, plus a level cap increase. The outlet also reports a new physical ranged DPS job called Zephyr.

Final Fantasy XIV is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and PC through Steam, according to Gematsu. Nintendo Life notes the game is now on Switch 2. The sources do not list platforms for Evercold separately, so check the official announcement before you pre-order.
The Steam page says every edition except the Free Trial needs an active paid subscription. It also says the trial covers A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers, and that new service accounts get 30 days of free play.
