Conan Exiles Enhanced Coming to PS5 in Early 2027, Free for Current Owners
Funcom's Unreal Engine 5 upgrade of Conan Exiles is headed to PS5 in early 2027, and players who already own the game on PlayStation get it at no extra cost.
Publisher Funcom has announced that Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PS5, and players who already own the survival game on PlayStation won't have to pay again. The announcement came via the PlayStation Blog, with a trailer comparing the old PS4 look to the new version.
The Enhanced edition first arrived on PC earlier this year, according to Push Square. The PS5 launch is slated for early 2027.
What the upgrade includes
According to the PlayStation Blog, the Enhanced edition brings improved environments, characters, lighting and effects. It also has a redesigned UI, plus performance and quality-of-life improvements.
Push Square reports the game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and uses features such as Nanite and Lumen global illumination. It describes the trailer's before-and-after comparisons as a serious visual leap.
Exploring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion is also meant to be more seamless. Push Square says travel from the main map to the island is more streamlined. Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase.
The console launch will include the new Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc from day one. The blog says it lets players uncover the mysteries of the ancient Giant-Kings and their forgotten legacy, with new challenges, discoveries and rewards.
How the free upgrade works
All players who own Conan Exiles on PlayStation will get the Enhanced version for PS5 at no cost. Both PS4 and PS5 versions will be on sale, and buying one gets you the other free, according to the PlayStation Blog.
Your purchased Bazaar items and DLC will carry over from PS4 to PS5.
Aloft is coming too
Funcom also confirmed that Aloft, its cozy co-op sandbox survival game set among floating islands, will reach PS5 in early 2027. It has been in early access on PC since January 2025, per Push Square.
The PS5 version will include all the early access updates plus the 1.0 experience. The blog says Aloft has had five major content updates since early access began.
What it means for you
If you already own Conan Exiles on PS4, there is nothing to buy: the PS5 Enhanced version is included. New players can pick up either version and get the other free. Funcom says release dates and more details for both games will come later, and you can wishlist them on the PlayStation Store now.
