FUR Squadron Phoenix, an on-rails space shooter often compared to Star Fox 64, is heading to Xbox. Pure Xbox reports that it will arrive on Xbox Series X and S on December 6.
Pure Xbox links the release to Wild Blue Skies, another game in the same vein. The outlet says that game had a "seemingly successful" Xbox release earlier this year.
The Steam page describes the setup. You play a pilot in training who battles in strange virtual worlds, upgrades your ship and protects the federation from an imminent threat.
What the game offers
The core of the game is a roguelite campaign. According to the Steam page, update 2.0 added a new campaign built around Full Range Combat gameplay, plus an epilogue storyline to the main campaign's quest. Pure Xbox says that update arrived in August, after the original PC release.

Pure Xbox notes that the game has a "Mostly Positive" rating on Steam from only 32 reviews. The outlet suggests it has not been especially popular on PC and hopes the Xbox release brings more sales.
The Steam page also quotes critics. Game Informer gave it 8.5 and called it "the Star Fox 64 successor I've wanted for nearly three decades". Nintendo World Report gave it 8. These are the outlets' own verdicts as quoted on the Steam page, not ours.
