Sony Unveils Prism Collection of Transparent PS5 DualSense Controllers and Console Covers
Sony's Prism Collection brings see-through DualSense controllers and PS5 covers in three colors, with pre-orders opening November 10 and launch on February 4, 2027.
Sony has announced the Prism Collection, a new line of transparent PlayStation 5 accessories that revives the see-through look of the late 1990s. It includes three DualSense wireless controllers and three PS5 console covers, each with a transparent element.
What the Prism Collection includes
Each accessory comes in one of three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. According to the PlayStation Blog, every color is finished with a premium glossy sheen.
Sony says the designs are meant to give players a closer look at the craftsmanship and technology inside the controller and console.
PlayStation design team members Leo Cardoso and Satoshi Aoyagi, from the Color, Material, and Finish team, explained the thinking behind the look. They said the high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, showing the technology inside while keeping a sleek, monochromatic appearance. A metallic finish on the middle cover ties the contrasting surfaces together.
On the colors, the designers described a vibrant orange that takes on a rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps, a deep hunter green that gains depth through its transparency, and a cool-toned storm gray.
Price and release date
The Prism Collection launches starting February 4, 2027. Sony notes that the exact launch date and availability may vary by country or region.
Recommended retail prices:
- DualSense controllers: $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99 / ¥12,480 (including tax)
- PS5 console covers: $74.99 / €74.99 / £64.99 / ¥9,980 (including tax)
Sony says actual retailer prices and availability may vary. The controllers will be available globally. The console covers will be sold exclusively directly from PlayStation where that is available. In other regions they will come in limited quantities through select retailers.
How to pre-order
Pre-orders begin on November 10, 2026, at 10am local time, directly from PlayStation where available and through participating retailers.
In the US, pre-orders open at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET through direct.playstation.com. In the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, they open at 10:00am local time through playstation.com/store/hardware.
What it means for you
If you want a console cover, the direct PlayStation pre-order on November 10 is the main route, since the covers are exclusive to PlayStation in regions where it sells directly. Elsewhere, supply is described as limited and tied to select retailers. Controllers cost more than the standard white DualSense, so compare prices before ordering. Retailer prices may differ from Sony's recommended ones.
