The gothic life-simulation game Moonlight Peaks will arrive on PlayStation 5 on November 17, the publishers have announced. XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe are releasing it, with Little Chicken Game Company as the developer.
The PS5 version follows the game's first release on Switch 2, Switch and PC through Steam on July 7. Gematsu reports it has sold over 200,000 copies since then.
What is Moonlight Peaks?
You play a vampire living in a magical town full of werewolves, witches, mermaids and other creatures. The publishers describe it as a heartwarming, supernatural life sim. The story has you showing your skeptical father that a life of compassion is possible, even for the undead.
You settle into your family's abandoned homestead and make it your own. That means growing magical crops, raising livestock and decorating a gothic-style cottage. Unlocking ancient abilities is meant to help your harvests.
Beyond the farm, the town is home to seven families whose mysteries you can uncover. There are two dozen romanceable characters, so you can befriend locals or find love.
Magic, hobbies and card games
The publishers say you can shapeshift into other forms to explore the town. You can also study witchcraft to learn spells that help on the farm or when gathering resources.
Other activities include:
- Fishing and foraging
- Potion-crafting
- Embroidering and flower arranging
- Collecting cards for Nokturna, the town's favorite game, and playing against residents
One catch from the publishers' pitch: you need to be back in your coffin before the sun comes up.
